Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, Dorset

One of the most photographed streets in Great Britain, Gold Hill is perhaps best known for its association with the famous Hovis bread advert that was filmed here in 1973, directed by Ridley Scott.

Not so well known - but no less breathtaking - are the far reaching views across Dorset that can be enjoyed from the wonderful Park Lane which lies immediatley to the right of Gold Hill.

You will no doubt have seen the typical view of Gold Hill taken from the top of the hill, but have you ever seen it from the bottom?! These and other photos can be found on this site, along with 3 videos: the famous Hovis TV advert, the spoof The Two Ronnies filmed here in 1978, and video The Salvation Army used to promote their 2008 CD.
